The Sunshine Coast World Environment Day Festival is organised in partnership between the Sunshine Coast Environment Council (SCEC), Sunshine Coast Council, Sunshine Coast TAFE and the University of the Sunshine Coast.

How to get to the Festival

Transport is one of the main ways by means of which we impact on the environment, accounting for around 30% of the carbon emissions of an average household. We are very excited to announce that TransLink is supporting this year’s festival by offering free travel on Sunbus scheduled services to and from the University of Sunshine Coast on Sunday 5 June 2011 between 8am and 5pm.
By taking the bus to the festival you can avoid emitting the following amounts of Carbon Dioxide.

In other words if you live 25 kilometres away from the university you can avoid emitting 123 garbage bags of CO2 emissions simply by taking the bus.

Travel free with TransLink to the festival.

To be eligible for free travel on scheduled Sunbus services, you will need to download the World Environment Day and TransLink Free Travel Voucher. You will need to print the voucher and show it to the driver when you board the bus.  You must retain the voucher to use for your return travel.
Please note that this offer is only valid for travel to and from the World Enviornment Day Festival at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Sunbus scheduled services on Sunday 5 June 2011 between 8am and 5pm.

Other modes of travel

The festival is held on the grounds of the University of the Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs. You can get to the festival by bus, bicycle, foot or even by car.

 

Active Transport.

There are excellent walk and cycle path from Kawana, Sippy Downs and Mountain Creek Areas. The underpath under the Sunshine Motorway at the back of Lady Musgrave Drive provides an access point to these paths for people living in Maroochydore, Alexendra Headlands and Mooloolaba areas.

This year why not come to the festival in an environmentally concious way, better for you, better for the environment and no parking stress.
