Get Involved in SCEC ActivitiesYou can get involved in SCEC in many different ways. We always need more people to help out with a variety of different activities. SCEC achieves what it does thanks to the invaluable input from a number of volunteers, all contributing in their own way. You can volunteer once a year, once a month, once a week or everyday. It is up to you. Every time you help SCEC you help the Sunshine Coast Environment. This section includes informaiton about why people volunteer. Do you know why you are interested in volunteering? Volunteering is very rewarding, and if you have done volunteer work before you probably know just why you volunteer. If you have not done volunteer work before, give it a go. It is easy with SCEC: come be a part of our friendly team. You can also find in this section information about SCEC relevant to volunteering with us. If you are interested in volunteering with SCEC you can view the current volunteer opportunities. This provides an up-to-date list of our current volunteer needs. If one of the opportunities match you, there are contact details for you to discuss with the person responsible for the work just how you could be involved. If nothing matches your skills and time commitments it does not mean we do not need you. You can register your interest in volunteering so that we can match your details to a range of other volunteering needs. If none of these options suit you, you can call the office or come in a talk to our friendly office staff. Click here to see our contact details. No matter what your skills are, or how much time you want to commit, there are likely to be things that you can do to help. A good way to start is to check out our forum of environmental issues. There you can read what other people are saying and doing about environmental issues on the Sunshine Coast and have your say too. When a discussion reaches sufficient momentum, the issue can be taken up by a group of individuals and 'championed'. The issues section details the issues that are currently being taken up by a group. These are different from the environmental campaigns section which are environmental issues that SCEC is working hard to resolve. |
