Explore the circular economy principles and see them in practice with an interactive session facilitated by local business and community group innovators. The workshop is facilitated by Karina Seljak and Emily Boyd. 

Karina Seljak is Co-founder and Creative Director at Seljak Brand. Seljak Brand’s recycled wool blankets are made from offcuts from the factory floor and can be recycled at the end of their useful life. As well as exemplifying more circular systems through product and systems innovation, Seljak Brand educates about the Circular Economy and advocates for climate action.

Emily Boyd is the Coordinator of the Food Waste Loop project at Yandina Community Gardens. The project diverts food ‘waste’ from Yandina’s food businesses into compost systems, creating a localised waste management system. The project records how much Yandina town waste is processed using their systems, and evaluates the viability of the Food Waste Loop program to be replicated across Australia.
