con·ser·va·tionˌ känsərˈvāSH(ə)n/ - the action of conserving something, in particular: preservation, protection, or restoration of the natural environment, natural ecosystems, vegetation, and wildlife.

From the rivers to the oceans, everything we do has a flow on effect.

Human consumption is having an unprecedented impact on the natural environment, whether it be through our love of plastic, the prawns we eat at Christmas time, or the fuel we use in our car. Making sustainable choices as individuals and a community is the only way we'll be able to conserve the environment we love.

Our Climate and Conservation campaigns look specifically at how we can make smarter and more sustainable choices for our future. Our Plastic Waste campaign looks at the achievements of SCEC and other organisations who are actively campaigning to reduce the impacts of plastic waste entering our oceans. Our Shark Nets campaign is asking the QLD government to remove ineffective and outdated shark control equipment during the Humpback Whale migration season, and have this replaced with modern non-lethal technology. SCEC is also part of an alliance with a collection of national eNGO's to put a stop to unsustainable land clearing.

All of these campaigns and more can be read about below.
