Communities for Creatures - Nature Forum - 4 November

Our federal nature laws are broken and each year more than 300,000 hectares of habitat is lost in Queensland.

We now have a once in a generation opportunity to push for strong federal nature laws that protect and restore nature, rather than allow for continual biodiversity decline. Right now, reforms of the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act are being drafted and the government needs to hear loud and clear that the community wants strong laws for our iconic creatures.

Join us as we explore what is needed from these reforms and the science behind the new legislation. The nature forum will feature leading academics and advocates. Along with a range of activities for the whole family including creating a banner that will be delivered to a federal MP.

Hear from experts on what we must do to halt the extinction crisis and get key updates on an exciting project we are working on with UQ on best practice bioregional planning.

Bring the kids along too, to join in a range of interactive nature based activities. Craft, banner painting and face painting - fun for all the family.
