Working Bee 24 June 2023-Currimundi Catchment Care Group

 Working bee on Saturday 24 June 2023 from 2.00pm - 4.00pm.

 Location: Lilac Crescent, Currimundi
We will meet near 19 Lilac Crescent, Currimundi. We start working there, moving eastward.

Target: Garden escapees including barleria. This area of bushland is quite pristine – hopefully we will be able to keep it   that way.

This working bee timetable is different to our usual 2nd Saturday of the month due to our

WED event on Sunday 11 June

For more information: Visit event on our website.

  • The aim of our working bees to remove invasive weed plants and unsuitable garden escapees from these areas and encourage natives to thrive in their place. We will sometimes plant natives in suitable areas as well. This in turn will provide food and shelter for native birds and wildlife.

Everyone is welcome to join us. The work will suit most peoples of all levels of fitness and age. Children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

Please wear long sleeves and pants and closed-in shoes for your protection. We also recommend a hat and water bottle. Gloves and tools supplied.

The working bees are operated under the Sunshine Coast Council Bushcare volunteer conservation program. Before participating for the first time you will be required to register and complete a safety induction (both simple processes). During the COVID-19 restrictions, you will be required to abide by social distancing rules at the event.  There is also currently a maximum of 20 participants.
