Vivien has been involved in the Sunshine Coast environment movement since the early 90’s. Like many, her first contact was through a revegetation group, and then went on to find herself part of the Marcus High Dunes campaign team. Over nearly 3 decades she has been privileged to work alongside many committed environmental activists in campaigns, events and on-the-ground work.
She was successful in nominating for Noosa Council in 1994, and experienced over 15 years of local government councillor activism on both Noosa and Sunshine Coast Councils. She strongly believes that politicians have a responsibility to lead and drive innovative sustainable outcomes at all levels of government. More recently Vivien is part of the Zero Emissions Noosa team which is working towards zero community carbon emissions by 2026. Key areas of attention are electricity consumption and transport.
She also chairs the Sunshine Coast Environment Council, and is grateful for the high commitment and competence from Jacki Boyce, Narelle McCarthy, Management Committee members and SCEC volunteers. It is a terrific family!
