Whether you prefer short strolls along the coast or around villages, more strenuous bush walks, or longer treks with overnight camping, such as the 58km Great Walk through the Blackall Range, the Sunshine Coast has something to offer to anyone.

There are a number of great guide books and resources for walking in the region, see the ‘recommended reading’ links on this page for some suggestions, as well as yearly walking events, and a walking festival that is held in the months of August/September based in the Sunshine Coast’s hinterland. Your local tourist information centre will be able to help you with the latest information about this and other similar events:

  • Coastrek is a 30-60km team trekking challenge run by Wild Women On Top, which journeys along some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, including the Sunshine Coast. Find out more here.
  • Looking for a short or easy walk? Find one here.
