SCEC's WEDFest Celebration!
We've been celebrating World Environment Day since 1979 and, in 2025, SCEC is hosting another great event! So join us to be inspired and be part of celebrating the environment and community!
Celebration of World Environment Day Festival 2025
The Sunshine Coast Environment Council will be holding its highly acclaimed World Environment Day Festival on Sunday, 29 June at Small Change Espresso in Nambour from 4:00 to 8:00pm. This year, SCEC’s dedicated program aligns with the United Nations Environment Programme’s campaign of ‘Ending Plastic Pollution’ by calling for meaningful action to address the pressing issue of plastic pollution and its harmful effects on the environment, human health, and the climate.
WEDFest 2025 will feature presentations from I’m Plastic Free expert, Simona Paganetto and Sunshine Coast Councillor, David Law, music by Roanna Law and Sundew Sounds, a light show by Herb Fenn, and a documentary on ‘Who is Polluting the Ocean with Plastic?’. It will inspire collective commitment for improved waste management and policies in the lead up to resumption of a global treaty for tackling plastic pollution.
WEDFest 2025 is always a milestone in SCEC’s annual calendar and marks the culmination of a succession of monthlong events hosted by the Environment Council’s member groups and individuals to highlight diverse approaches towards achieving positive environmental change.
It promises to be an engaging program of collaboration and celebration. Tickets for entry may be purchased online at https://scec.supporterhub.net.au/events/wedfest-celebration or at the door for $15 or a gold coin for concession holders.
