The Sunshine Coast Environment Council is holding its highly acclaimed World Environment Day Festival on Saturday, 16 August at Marina Bar Noosa along the Tewantin riverfront from 12:00 to 3:00pm. This year, SCEC’s dedicated program aligns with the United Nations Environment Programme’s campaign of ‘Ending Plastic Pollution’ calling for meaningful action to address the pressing issue of plastic pollution and its harmful effects on the environment, human health, and the climate.

WEDFest 2025 will be opened by Councillor Amelia Lorentson, Noosa Council; feature presentations from Simona Paganetto, I’m Plastic Free, Jennifer Sharpe, Plastic Free Noosa and Alison Foley, Ten Little Pieces; music by Roanna Law and Jeremiah Montgomery; and documentaries on ‘Plastic Unwrapped’ and ‘Who is Polluting the Ocean?’. Carin van Grunsven of Ploys Design will be offering upcycled products to inspire collective commitment for improved waste management and policies to sign a global treaty for tackling plastic pollution.

WEDFest is always a milestone in SCEC’s annual calendar. This year promises an engaging program of collaboration for a ‘Plastic Free Celebration’. A gold coin donation will be requested upon entry with tickets for raffle prizes. For further information, email info@scec.org.au or call 5441-5747.

This will be a wonderful and engaging event you won't want to miss, so please let us know you'll be there with your RSVP
