The Sunshine Coast Environment Council is holding its highly acclaimed World Environment Day Festival on Saturday, 16 August at Marina Bar Noosa along the Tewantin riverfront from 12:00 to 3:00pm. This year, SCEC’s dedicated program aligns with the United Nations Environment Programme’s campaign of ‘Ending Plastic Pollution’ calling for meaningful action to address the pressing issue of plastic pollution and its harmful effects on the environment, human health, and the climate.
SCEC's WEDFest 2025 joins with Plastic Free Noosa to feature presentations from Simona Paganetto, I’m Plastic Free and Jennifer Sharpe, Plastic Free Noosa; music by Roanna Law; a light show by Herb Fenn; and documentaries on ‘Plastic Unwrapped’ and ‘Who is Polluting the Ocean’. Ploy Plastics will be offering upcycled products to inspire collective commitment for improved waste management and policies to sign a global treaty for tackling plastic pollution.
For over four decades, WEDFest is a milestone in SCEC’s annual calendar. This year promises once again to be an engaging program of collaboration for a ‘Plastic Free Celebration’. A gold coin donation would be appreciated upon entry with tickets in our fabulous fundraising raffle also on offer. For further information, email info@scec.org.au or call 5441-5747
