Draft Rural Futures Strategy
Council has recently released a Draft Rural Futures Strategy for public comment.
The draft strategy provides a framework for supporting the growth and prosperity of the rural communities of the Sunshine Coast. It sets out a range of activities that will help strengthen and enhance the existing role of the Hinterland as an area of outstanding natural beauty and vitality, and as a location:
- for agriculture production
- as a tourism destination
- for a range of economic opportunities
- as a lifestyle area
- that fosters community cohesion
The consultation period is open from 7 January 2013 until 22 February 2013.
