Waterway health revealed
The recent release of this year's Healthy Waterways Report Card showed that better investment in catchment management and the great efforts of the region's community groups yielded welcome improved grades in some waterways, while others either held steady or experienced declines. Sediment & other pollutants entering our estuaries, particularly from construction sites & some rural activities, remains a major issue. With the push and encroachment of increased development activities, some slated for sensitive environments, increased sediment and erosion control compliance is a must. North Stradbroke Island Sand Mining
