Currimundi Catchment Care Group - Bancroft's Red Gum Environmental Reserve Walk

Explore Bancroft’s Red Gum Environmental Reserve on a self-guided walk showcasing the transformation of degraded grazing land into a thriving Wallum ecosystem. Over eight years, 18,000 native seedlings were planted by community volunteers, with the site now naturally regenerating into surrounding protected areas.

Discover before-and-after insights that highlight the power of community-led restoration, with CCCG volunteers and the Wildlife Preservation Society of Qld sharing knowledge on native species and conservation. This event demonstrates how restoring native vegetation at the urban edge supports biodiversity and climate, and builds a more resilient future.

Please wear suitable footwear for slightly wet sections of the path, and bring to bring insect spray, for mosquitoes. Participants can receive a free native seedling and go in the draw to win a major prize, with a complimentary sausage sizzle and refreshments provided.
