-
Does SCEC need to know about all fundraising activities conducted on its behalf?
Yes, SCEC is legally accountable for fundraising activities conducted on its behalf. We need to issue a letter to you stating our authority, so after you get in touch we will ask you to complete the Community Fundraising Application Form.
-
What should I tell people who are donating or participating?
The Sunshine Coast Environment Council should be named as the beneficiary of the event or activity - e.g. 'proceeds of the event will go to the Sunshine Coast Environment Council'. The percentage, actual portion, or gross proceeds to be donated to SCEC should be disclosed on any tickets, flyers, or notice visible to all participants if this is less than 100%.
-
Can someone from SCEC attend my fundraising event?
You are welcome to request someone from SCEC to attend your event and we will do what we can to accommodate your request. Unfortunately, due to a limited number of staff and time constraints, we are not always
able to provide a representative.
-
Can SCEC issue tax deductible receipts?
SCEC can issue tax receipts for donations but only to individuals or organisations who make a
donation without receiving a product or service in return. Tax receipts are only available
for donations over $2.00.
