Member Group Regional Environmental Roundtables & Environment Minister Meetings
Collaborative Platform
SCEC provides a strong and collaborative platform for our member groups to discuss and address the most pressing environmental issues facing the Sunshine Coast region. Through biannual member meetings, we share insights, set priorities, and develop briefs that are submitted directly to the Environment Minister.
Ministerial Roundtables
We represent our members at Ministerial Roundtable events held twice a year, ensuring the collective voice of the Sunshine Coast is heard at the highest levels of government. These forums provide an opportunity to raise key environmental concerns, contribute to policy discussions, and help shape Queensland’s conservation agenda.
Our participation alongside other regional conservation councils across the state keeps SCEC closely connected to the broader environmental movement and aware of issues of state, national, and global significance. The four-day Roundtable, hosted by the Queensland Conservation Council (QCC) includes a Queensland Environmental Roundtable day that strengthens collaboration, builds capacity, and aligns advocacy efforts across Queensland’s conservation sector.
Through this ongoing engagement and advocacy, SCEC plays a vital role in influencing policy outcomes, strengthening regional partnerships, and securing better protections for the Sunshine Coast’s natural environment.
