Dear Members and Friends,

You’re warmly invited to a special evening at the WEDFest 2026 Launch Party for the start of WEDFest 2026, a month-long celebration of environment, community, and action across the Sunshine Coast.

On World Environment Day, Friday 5th June, we’ll gather at the Sunshine Coast Environment Council (3 Porters Lane, Nambour) from 5:30pm to 9:00pm to celebrate the beginning of this vibrant festival, and the incredible work of our member groups and community who care for and protect our region.

This launch event is an opportunity to connect, reflect, and recognise the dedication and impact of our network. You’ll hear directly from SCEC member groups and community, sharing stories of the meaningful work happening across the Sunshine Coast, while enjoying a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and enjoying time with others who are committed to caring for our natural world.

What to expect:

5.30 - 6.30: Dinner & drinks, a delicious vegan curry, hot drinks, beer, wine and cider will be available to purchase. 

6.30 - 7.30: Inspiring 10 minute talks on ecological restoration, protecting Queensland, Greater Glider conservation, our Biosphere and more.

7.30 - 9pm: Live acoustic Music by Tommy Leonard, snacks and drinks 

WEDFest is about connection between people, place, and purpose and about honouring the collective effort that makes real environmental change possible.
